Fashion and technical designer based in San Mateo, CA, with a background in engineering and product development. I approach clothing like I approached product systems: with a focus on fit, form, function, and how the details come together to actually make something work.
01 // The Engineering Root
Before (and alongside) fashion, I spent over a decade working as a Product Development Engineer in the medical device industry. My focus was designing 3D-printable products for head and neck cancer patients; work that demands precision, empathy, and a deep understanding of how things are built and used in the real world.
That experience shaped how I think. I approach problems structurally, care about user experience, and never design anything without knowing how it’s going to be made. Now, I’m actively translating my engineering experience into this space: building garments with the same discipline I applied to medtech, but with more fabric, more movement, and a lot more intention.
02 // The Current Practice
After starting my career in medtech, I transitioned into fashion by working as an Assistant Fashion & Technical Designer at the independent streetwear brand RARECANDY.
I support the full design process across both creative and technical sides. From developing flats in Illustrator and prototyping samples, to leading digital simulations in CLO3D and building out detailed spec sheets. I’ve contributed to fit corrections, vendor-ready documentation, 3D garment renders, and new product launches, always with an eye on construction, proportion, and quality.
Garments should work structurally, functionally, and visually.
Clear specs make better products (and better relationships with vendors).
Fit should feel intentional and never be left to chance.
There’s value in both experimentation and repeatability.
